Why winterization pays off
Winterization costs from €40. A repair after frost, when a valve, pipe or sprinkler splits, costs several times that in practice, plus a dug-up lawn in spring.

- Shut off the water supply to the irrigation
- Blow the water out of every zone separately with a compressor
- Check valves and sprinklers for leaks
- Switch the controller to winter mode
- Tell you if anything needs repairing in spring

Winterization FAQ
When should irrigation be winterized?
Before the first frosts, in our region usually by the end of October or early November. One frosty night rarely hurts; several days of frost do.
Is turning off the water not enough?
No. Water stays in the pipes, valves and sprinklers and splits them when it freezes. That is why it has to be blown out with a compressor.
Do you winterize systems installed by someone else?
Yes. I winterize irrigation regardless of who installed it, and work with Hunter, Rain Bird and Toro systems every day.
Do I have to be at home?
No. I just need access to the valve box and the main water shut-off. We agree the details when confirming the date.
Do you also do the spring start-up?
Yes, for the same price. In spring I refill the system, check every zone and set the programmes.
