Spring irrigation start-up after winter
In spring I carefully refill the system, check every zone and sprinkler and set the programmes for the new season. Any winter damage shows up now, not in July.

Why not just open the valve
If the system is filled at full pressure all at once, trapped air and water hammer can damage valves and pipes. During start-up I also see what winter broke while there is still time to fix it.

How much does a spring start-up cost
The same as winterization: €10 per zone, minimum €40. If I find a fault, the repair is charged at the service rate (€40/hour + materials) and always agreed in advance.

Spring start-up FAQ
When is the best time for a spring start-up?
Once hard frosts are over, usually from late March to mid-April. The lawn does not need much water yet, so there is time for any repair.
What if a zone does not work after winter?
Most often it is a clogged or damaged valve, a flat battery or a broken cable. I find it during start-up and tell you the repair price first.
Do you start up systems you did not winterize?
Yes, I start up irrigation of all common brands regardless of who installed it.
Do I have to be at home?
It helps if you are there for a while so I can show you the programme settings. If you cannot be, access to the valve box and the water is enough.
Can I book in winter already?
Yes, and I recommend it. Spring dates fill up quickly, and those who get in touch earlier are served first.
